Aguereberry Point

At over six thousand feet above the valley floor, Aguereberry Point offers one of the best views of this incredible place called Death Valley. In 1905 Shorty Harris teamed up with a Basque miner named Jean Pierre "Pete" Aguereberry and began to prospect the Wildrose area. They found a gold rich ledge that came to be known as the Eureka Mine. Pete continued to work the Eureka until his death in 1945. Not only do you get one of the finest panoramic views in the park, but the Eureka mine in still intact and a walk around the old out buildings is like walking back in time. Please remember to leave things as you found them; once areas like this are damaged or destroyed they can never be replaced.
