Death Valley National Park - North and West

Near Stovepipe Wells, giant sand dunes ripple in the wind. Further north, enjoy living history tours at Scotty's Castle. Nearby Ubehebe Crater, or "Wosa", Coyote's Burden Basket, is where traditional stories of the Timbisha Shoshone say their life began here. The adventurous tourist may continue on to Racetrack Playa to solve the mystery of travelling stones, or to the Eureka Dunes. Hotter months are a great time to travel up into the Panamint Range to visit Telescope Peak, the Charcoal Kilns or hike the Wildrose Peak trail. Bird watching, photography and hiking opportunities are all around. Many side canyons throughout the Park entice with waterfalls, petroglyphs, wild life and more. Some can be driven, and some are best on foot.
